The Polar heart rate monitor is recomended for DFA Alpha 1 analysis and testing thanks to it's HRV recording within workouts and transmits data via bluetooth as well as ANT+ to be broadcast to any ANT+ or bluetooth receiving head unit or to indoor training apps such as Zwift, that require a bluetooth connection. The chest strap is still the most accurate form or heart rate monitor and is still a very useful training tool that can be used to gain insight into how efficently the body is working to produce power and can be used to spot signs of training adaptation during a ride or to recognise and manage the return from sickness.
